This work focuses on images of China in travelogues that were published within the territories of the modern Czech Republic during the 1930s. Práca sa zaoberá obrazmi Číny v cestopisoch publikovaných na území dnešnej Českej republiky v 30. rokoch 20. storočia. Prvá časť vysvetľuje historické pozadie tvorby portrétov o čínskej ríši, po ktorej nasleduje predstavenie základného teoretického rámca: orientalizmu a koloniálneho konceptu takisto ako aj vysvetlenie dôležitých aspektov pri rozbore cestopisného žánru.
