Company Culture in a Chosen Firm in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá firemní kulturou zahraniční společnosti působící na území ČR. Cílem práce je pomocí analýzy zjistit vliv zahraniční kultury na efektivnost českých zaměstnanců a prostřednictvím dotazníkového šetření zjistit míru prolínání cizího jazyka do češtiny a identifikovat nejčastější kulturní střety. Teoretická část této práce je analýzou odborné literatury a seznamuje čtenáře s klíčovými pojmy – firemní kulturou, řízením mezinárodních lidských zdrojů, manažerskými styly, efektivností, multikulturní komunikací a interkulturním konfliktem. V aplikační části je představena zkoumaná firma a charakterizována její firemní kultura a vliv zahraniční firemní kultury. Korelační analýza osobních nákladů a výnosů firmy řeší vzájemný vztah těchto dvou veličin. Dále je zkoumána efektivnost mzdových nákladů vynaložených ve sledovaném období na všechny zaměstnance firmy a zvlášť na její manažery. Formou dotazníkového šetření je zanalyzováno prolínání anglického a českého jazyka a specifikovány kulturní rozdíly. Výstupem práce jsou navržená opatření, jež zahrnují interkulturní trénink jak českých zaměstnanců, tak i cizinců pracujících v české pobočce společnosti, projekt zabývající se nastavením zodpovědností a pravomocí a dále návrh změření firemní kultury pomocí Hofstedeho modelu kulturních dimenzí organizační kultury.

Abstract:

The topic of the bachelor thesis is focused on a company culture of an international company in the Czech Republic. The goal of the thesis is to analyze an impact of an international culture on Czech employee effectiveness, to find out how foreign language penetrates Czech language and to identify the most frequent culture conflicts through a realized survey. The theoretical part covers the analysis of the scientific literature and explains key words – company culture, international human resources management, managerial styles, effectiveness, intercultural communication and intercultural conflict. The practical part deals with the analysis of the company culture of a concrete company and the impact of the international culture on Czech employees. A correlation analysis of the company revenue and personal costs addresses an interrelationship of these figures. There is a calculation of the effectiveness of personal costs and revenue during the monitored period, too. Outcomes of a realized survey bring an analysis of English penetration into Czech and concrete cultural differences. The improvement suggestions include an intercultural training for Czech and foreign employees, an internal responsibility and authority setting project and the company culture measure by Hofstede’s Organizational Cultural Model.
