Abstract:
Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá událostmi, které předcházeli teroristickým útokům z 11. září roku 2001. Rozebírá sovětskou intervenci do Afghánistánu a popisuje vznik teroristické sítě Al-Kajda. Mapuje důvody tohoto bezpečnostního milníku a zkoumá jak ovlivnil mezinárodní vztahy a geopolitickou situaci ve světě.
Abstract:
The present thesis deals with the events that preceded the terrorist attacks of 11 September 2001, analysing the Soviet intervention in Afghanistan and describing the emergence of the Al-Qaeda terrorist network. It charts the reasons for this security milestone and examines how it affected international relations and the geopolitical situation in the world.
