Art as a method for sorting information (pedagogical project)

Abstract:

Ve své bakalářské práci se zabývám způsobem třídění informací a jejich následným výtvarným a dramatickým zpracováním. Jedná se o pedagogický projekt, pracuji s metodami, které by pomohly dětem lépe se orientovat v záplavě informací a dále je zpracovávat a třídit. Tyto metody aplikuji na dvou místech se skupinou jedenáctiletých žáků navštěvující Základní uměleckou školu v Českém Brodě, obor výtvarná výchova, a s žáky Základní umělecké školy v Roudnici nad Labem, oboru dramatická výchova. Při aplikaci první metody žáci vybírají z obdrženého textu ty informace, které jsou podle jejich uvážení podstatné a nosné, a dále je zpracovávají komiksovou formou. Výsledek je využit pro dramatickou etudu. V aplikaci druhé metody žáci zpracovávají informace z téhož textu a následně je dramatizují. Pro tato dramatická cvičení používám celou řadu tvůrčích omezení (prostoru, času aj.). Z tohoto důvodu se v teoretické části zabývám komiksem, tříděním informací z hlediska psychologie, čtenářskou gramotností, dramatickou výchovou, naratologií a vizuální kulturou.

Abstract:

My Bachelor's Thesis is concerned with the way we sort information and apply them through artistic and dramatic activity. The project is focused on the pedagogical aspect, and my methods are aimed at the development of children's lateral and critical thinking, as well as the ability to properly sort through today's avalanche of information. These methods were applied in two places. The first group was made out of several eleven year old students attending the Basic Artistic School in Český Brod (art class), and the second group was made out of several students of the Basic Art School in Roudnice nad Labem (drama class). The first method is applied by offering the students a text that is then taken apart by them, information that is considered to be useful by them is selected and then applied to a comic form. The result is used for a dramatic exercise. The second method uses the same text, but the result is applied straight to a more complex dramatic exercise, often limited in a creative way like specific speech or timing. Because of these methods the theoretical part of my Bachelor's Thesis explains comic work, information sorting from the psychological point of view, literacy, dramatic education, naratology and visual culture.
