Abstract:
The bachelor thesis deals with racial discrimination of African Americans in the United States in the 20th century and provides a detailed description of the most important events of their struggle against racism in the 1950s and 1960s. It describes the life of Martin Luther King, Jr. and his lifelong work in the Civil Rights movement. In the end King?s concept of nonviolence is compared with black …more
Abstract:
Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje rasové diskriminaci Afroameričanů ve 20. století a popisuje vývoj nejvýznamnějších událostí a akcí v boji proti rasismu v 50. a 60. létech 20. století. Dále popisuje život Martina Luthera Kinga, Jr. a jeho celoživotní práci v hnutí za občanská práva. V závěru je porovnáno Kingovo pojetí nenásilí s černošským separatistickým a nacionalistickým hnutím.
