Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje statistickým a kognitivním zkreslením jako součást informační gramotnosti. Ve své práci provádím rešerši nejvýznamnějších zkreslení a na jejím základě vytvářím výukové materiály určené široké veřejnosti. Pro demonstraci a hlubší pochopení problematiky jednotlivých statistických zkreslení vytvářím interaktivní aplikace v prostředí Shiny. Popis i aplikace prezentuji na veřejně dostupné webové stránce. Vytvořené materiály včetně aplikací mohou být prospěšné široké veřejnosti při snaze předcházet chybnému vyhledávání, vyhodnocení a interpretování informací a tím zvýšit informační gramotnost. Význam informační gramotnosti neustále roste se zvyšující se dostupností informací.

Abstract:

The topic of the thesis is statistical and cognitive biases as an integral part of information literacy. The main goal of the thesis is to review the literature on the most significant biases; then, based on the review, I make educational materials for a general audience. The material describing statistical biases is further supported by interactive web applications created in Shiny, which help deeper and easier understanding of the nature of the biases. Both, the written material and Shiny applications are presented on a publicly available website. The website may be beneficial to the general public in better searching, evaluating, and interpreting information; therefore, it may improve general information literacy. The importance of information literacy is increasing in the current world of ever-growing access to information.
