Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá náplní, významem a pozicí profese charakterového designera v kontextu tvorby rodinných animovaných filmů. Sleduje a přibližuje klíčové metody postupu práce charakterového designera pro tvorbu kvalitních animovaných postav. Práce dále představuje základní techniky využívané k výstavbě vnitřního prostředí postav jako jsou metoda Inside Out, backstory a ilustruje na konkrétních příkladech. Ve své druhé části diplomová práce obsahuje autorskou explikaci projektu s názvem Opičí král, čímž přibližuje proces jeho tvorby a doplňuje přidružené dílo práce.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the content, significance, and position of the profession of character designers in the context of family animated movies. It follows and explains key methods used by character designers for creating quality animated characters. The thesis then introduces core techniques employed for constructing a character's internal environment such as the Inside-out method, backstory, and illustrates it on concrete examples. In its second part, it contains an author's explication of the project entitled The Monkey King by which it expounds the process of its creation and complements the affiliated workpiece.
