Prüfer transformation in the theory of differential and difference equations

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje využití Prüferovy transformace v teorii diferenciálních a diferenčních rovnic. Nejprve jsou uvedeny základní pojmy a vlastnosti pololineárních diferenciálních rovnic, které jsou dále využívány při studiu Sturmovy teorie. Následně je zkoumána oscilace a neoscilace pololineárních diferenciálních rovnic s periodickými a asymptoticky skoroperiodickými koeficienty. Další část pojednává o základních pojmech a oscilačních vlastnostech pololineárních diferenčních rovnic. Na závěr práce je zavedena diskrétní Prüferova transformace a uvedeny dvě její významné aplikace.

Abstract:

In this thesis, we deal with the use of Prüfer transformation in the theory of differential and difference equations. First, we recall the basic concepts and properties of half-linear differential equations, which we will use in studying Sturm's theory. Then we analyse oscillation and non-oscillation of half-linear differential equations with periodic and asymptotically almost periodic coefficient. The next part deals with basic concepts and oscillation properties of half-linear difference equations. At the end of the thesis, we introduce the discrete Prüfer transformation and we mention its two important applications.
