Táto diplomová práca pojednáva o otázke vhodnosti zavedenia priamej voľby starostov v Českej republike. Prvou časťou tejto práce je charakteristika súčasného právneho stavu, postavenia obcí a systému jej orgánov. Tento stav je následne porovnaný s vybranými zahraničnými systémami.
