This thesis aims to analyse the specific contexts in Hans Børli’s poetical works in which the themes of imprisonment and liberation appear. First, it presents key characteristics of Børli’s poetry, puts it into the context of modernism, and explains how the imprisonment of the individual in Børli’s work is related to the said literary movement. Tato práce pojednává o konkrétních formách uvěznění a osvobození v básnickém díle Hanse Børliho a se soustředí na kontexty, ve kterých se tato témata objevují. Začíná představením charakteristických rysů básníkovy poezie, zasazuje ji do modernistického kontextu a vysvětluje, jak jakou má Børliho pojetí uvězněného individua spojitost s tématy, kterými se zabývá modernistická tradice.
