Analysis and Tools for Detecting Insurance Fraud in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Anotace Diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou pojistných podvodů a nástroji pro odhalování pojistných podvodů u vybraného pojistitele. V úvodní části je představena historie pojišťovnictví, vysvětleny základní pojmy a představeny pojistné podvody z pohledu pojišťoven. V další části jsou popsány indikátory klientského a interního pojistného podvodu, nástroje pro odhalování pojistných podvodů a prevence odhalování pojistných podvodů, nástroje a způsoby odhalování pojistného podvodu u vybraného pojistitele a práce útvaru vnitřní kontroly. V předposlední části práce jsou uvedeny příklady klientského a interního pojistného podvodu a statistiky pojistných podvodů. V závěrečné části práce je popsán současný stav pojistných podvodů a srovnání vývoje pojistných podvodů ve specifikovaných oborech pojištění.

Abstract:

Annotation This diploma thesis focuses on analysing insurance frauds and instruments for detecting insurance frauds applied by a selected insurer. The introductory part outlines the history of insurance, explains the basic terminology and presents insurance frauds from the perspective of insurance companies. It then describes indicators of client and internal insurance fraud, instruments for detecting insurance frauds and for preventing the detection of insurance frauds, as well as instruments and methods for detecting insurance fraud as applied by a selected insurer and the work of the internal control department. The penultimate part of the work gives examples of client and internal insurance fraud and insurance fraud statistics. The final part of the work describes the current situation with insurance frauds and compares insurance fraud trends in the specified fields of insurance.
