The Czech Center in Paris and its role in the promotion of Czech cultural and natural heritage

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá tématem kulturní diplomacie a role Českého centra Paříž v propagaci českého přírodního a kulturního bohatství. Cílem práce bylo zmapovat a vyhodnotit roli Českého centra v Paříži v propagaci českého kulturního a přírodního dědictví a rozvíjení mezinárodní spolupráce přispívající k udržitelnosti rozvoje. V rámci teoretických východisek práce byl vypracován přehled poznatků o významu kultury a kulturní diplomacie na mezinárodním politickém poli, také v souvislosti s rozvojovými zeměmi a byla vymezena role Českých center v této oblasti. Vlastní práce byla zaměřena na charakteristiku a analýzu činnosti sítě Českých center, podrobné zhodnocení činnosti Českého centra Paříž, dopad globální pandemie Covid-19 na činnost pobočky a rozvoj využívání informační a komunikačních technologií Na základě výsledků vlastní práce byly odvozeny návrhy pro další rozvoj v této oblasti.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the topic of cultural diplomacy and the role of the Czech Center in Paris in the promotion of Czech natural and cultural heritage. The purpose of the thesis is to map and evaluate the role of the Czech Center in Paris in the promotion of Czech cultural and natural heritage and the development of international cooperation, contributing to sustainable development. Within the theoretical part of the thesis, an overview of the knowledge about the importance of culture and cultural diplomacy in the international political field, also in connection with developing countries was prepared and, the role of the Czech center network in this area was defined. The second, practical part, is focused on the characteristics and analysis of the activities of the network of Czech Centers, a detailed evaluation of the activities of the Czech Center Paris, and the impact of the global pandemic Covid-19 on the activities of the institution are provided. Based on the results of the practical part, suggestions for further development in this area were derived.
