Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá obdobím od 17. listopadu roku 1989, kdy byla policejním zásahem rozehnána studentská manifestace, přes vznik opozičního hnutí Občanské fórum, jeho složitý vývoj, vyjednávání se státní mocí, svobodné volby v roce 1990 až po zánik tohoto uskupení, zastupující veřejnost v dialogu se státní mocí.
