This bachelor thesis aims to compare two translations of several songs from the musical The Phantom of the Opera. The author of translation 1 is a professional translator, whereas translation 2 was created by a beginner. This thesis is divided into two parts. Cílem této bakalářské práce je porovnání dvou překladů několika písní z muzikálu Fantom Opery. Autorem překladu 1 je profesionální překladatel, zatímco překlad 2 byl vytvořen začátečníkem. Práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První část se věnuje teorii překladu, především překladatelskému procesu na rovině lexikální a poetické.
