Finnish cultural standards from a Czech perspective

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této bakalářské práce je analýza standardů finské kultury z české perspektivy. Standardy a rozdíly budou definovány na základě autorových zkušeností a rozhovorů s respondenty, kteří ve finském prostředí nějakou dobu žili nebo v něm pracovali. Mohou být osloveni také lidé, kteří v daném prostředí byli vychováni. Tento výzkum by měl objevit hlavní kulturní rozdíly mezi Českem a Finskem. V teoretické části si představí obecné fakta a informace o Finsku. Nastíníme si témata jako je komunikace, tradice či geografie. V druhé části projdeme procesem rozhovorů a výzkumu a následné shrnutí. Na závěr vyhodnotíme, zda hypotéza souhlasí či ne.

Abstract:

The main goal of the bachelor thesis analyse the cultural standards of Finland from the Czech viewpoint. Standards and differences will be recognized by the author’s personal experiences or by interviews with individuals who were in contact with the foreign environment or who lived in Finland for a certain time. Also, people raised in a foreign culture will be approached. These actions should clearly unveil the major differences between these countries. In the first part of the thesis, the facts and overall information about Finland will be introduced. The facts will open topics such as traditions, geography or communication. In the next step, the main hypothesis will be summarized for the research part of the thesis. The relationship of the Czech and Finnish culture will be evaluated by both sides followed by actual testing of the hypothesis. Whether it applies or not.
