Czechoslovak currency reforms in the years 1919, 1945 and 1953 and their comparison

Abstract:

V Československé republice proběhly za dobu její existence tři velké měnové reformy, a to v letech 1919, 1945 a 1953. Po nastínění historických souvislostí, které vedly k provedení měnové reformy a zmínění ekonomický faktorů, je v této práci velká pozornost věnována přípravám, plánům a vlastnímu provedení dané měnové reformy. Dále se tato práce zabývá popisem důsledků, které měnové reformy měly pro další vývoj společnosti a ekonomiky. Historické souvislosti jsou v závěru použity ke komparaci všech tří reforem s důrazem na společné znaky.

Abstract:

Three major currency reforms were conducted during the existence of the Czechoslovak republic – in the years 1919, 1945 and 1953. After foreshadowing the historical context, which led to a currency reform and mentioning the economic elements, an attention is paid to the preparations, plans and conduction of a given reform. This thesis is as well focused on describing the consequences of the currency reforms on the next development of the society and economy. Historical context is used in the end for the comparison of all three reforms with accent on common attributes.
