Banking union - regulatory rules within the EU

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce si klade za cíl popsat vznik bankovní unie, vysvětlit podobu jednotlivých pilířů a funkčnost mechanismů, které mají za cíl sjednocení regulatorních a dohledových praktik v eurozóně. Předkrizový přístup k regulaci byl z dnešního pohledu naprosto nedostatečný, proto se následující text snaží na konkrétních případech vysvětlit důvody pro aktuální podobu bankovní unie, které zajišťuje efektivní a bezpečné fungování jednotného trhu. Závěr práce se věnuje chybějícímu pilíři unie, jeho navrhované podobě a překážkám bránícím v jeho dokončení.

Abstract:

The bachelor's thesis aims to describe the genesis of the banking union, explain the form of individual pillars and functionality of mechanisms aimed at unification of regulatory and supervisory practices in the euro area. From today's point of view, the pre-crisis approach to regulation was completely insufficient, so the following text seeks to explain in specific cases the reasons for the current shape of the banking union, which ensures the effective and safe functioning of the single market. The breech of the thesis deals with the missing pillar of the union, its proposed form and obstacles to its completion.
