Impact of changes in excise duty rates on alcoholic beverages on alcohol consumption in the Czech Republic in 2010-2021

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá vybranými spotřebními daněmi, a to konkrétně daní z piva, lihu, vína a meziproduktů, v České republice a jejich dopadem na spotřebu alkoholických nápojů v letech 2010-2021. V teoretické části bakalářské práce jsou podrobně uvedeny teoretické koncepty související se zkoumanou problematikou, historie spojená se samotným vznikem daní a pohledem různých ekonomických škol na daně jako takové. Praktická část bakalářské práce potvrzuje hypotézu, že výše spotřební daně alkoholických nápojů ovlivňuje chování spotřebitelů. K potvrzení hypotézy dochází pomocí provedeného kvantitativního výzkumu, jehož výsledků se dosáhlo především metodou komparace. Zároveň potvrzuje praktická část bakalářské práce také hypotézu, že chování spotřebitelů nezávisí pouze na ceně výrobku. Tato hypotéza byla potvrzena pomocí výsledků dosažených díky analýze chování spotřebitele.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with selected excise taxes, namely taxes on beer, alcohol, wine and intermediate products, in the Czech Republic and their impact on the consumption of alcoholic beverages in the years 2010-2021.The theoretical part of the thesis presents in detail the theoretical concepts related to the issue under study, the history associated with the emergence of taxes and the views of various schools of economics on taxes as such. The practical part of the bachelor thesis confirms the hypothesis that the amount of excise tax on alcoholic beverages influences consumer behaviour. The confirmation of the hypothesis is achieved by means of quantitative research, the results of which were obtained mainly by the method of comparison. At the same time, the practical part of the bachelor thesis also confirms the hypothesis that consumer behaviour does not depend only on the price of the product. This hypothesis was confirmed by the results obtained through the analysis of consumer behaviour.
