Využití sušených larev hmyzu v akvakultuře: případová studie s larvami potemníka skladištního (Alphitobius diaperinus) a sumečky rodu Clarias

Dried insect larvae in aquaculture: case study with lesser mealworms (Alphitobius diaperinus) and catfish (Clarias sp.)

Abstract:

V teoretické části byl popsán ekologický dopad intenzivního zemědělství a s tím související snaha najít alternativní zdroje krmiva. Dále byl zmíněn hmyz jako náhrada ve výživě zvířat a jeho využití v akvakultuře, společně s popisem rybí moučky. Literární rešerše byla zakončena informacemi o evropské legislativě využití hmyzu jako krmiva. Praktická část byla zaměřena na experimentální výzkum, který měl za cíl ověřit možnost částečně nahradit kompletní krmnou směs pro ryby larvami sušeného hmyzu. Jako pokusné organismy byly vybrány larvy potemníka skladištního (Alphitobius diaperinus) kultivované na pšeničných otrubách a sumečka afrického (Clarias gariepinus). Pro experiment byly založeny tři pokusné skupiny sumečka afrického vždy po třech opakováních. Kontrolní skupina byla krmena pouze granulovanou kompletní krmnou směsí (KKS). V experimentálních skupinách byla KKS z 15 % - 30 % nahrazena sušenými larvami (SL). Množství krmiva bylo navrženo v množství 1,5 % hmotnosti ryb v nádrži, což odpovídá požadavkům pro extenzivní chov sumečků. Všechny skupiny byly chovány za stejných podmínek v laboratoři na Katedře zoologie a rybářství. Během chovu byly ryby každý týden váženy a měřeny, aby bylo možné posoudit hmotnost a konverzi jednotlivých pokusných skupin. Pokus byl ukončen po 42 dnech (sedmi týdnech). Průměrná hmotnost jedinců v pokusných skupinách byla 126,7 ± 48,7 g pro skupinu krmenou 70 % KKS + 30 % SL a 118,8 ± 35,5 g pro skupinu krmenou 85 % KKS a 15 % SL. Co se týče kontrolní skupiny, výsledná průměrná hmotnost jedince byla 122,2 ± 35,3 g. Na základě statistického vyhodnocení (α = 0,05) nebyl mezi těmito hodnotami statisticky významný rozdíl. Stejně tak nebyl statisticky významný rozdíl nalezen v průměrné a standardní celkové délce ryb. Výsledky práce naznačují, že v extenzivním chovu lze nahradit granulovanou KKS do 30 % bez významného vlivu na hmotnost a velikost ryb. Zatímco separace hmyzího proteinu a jeho zakomponování do KKS je technologicky náročná záležitost, čemuž odpovídá i relativně vysoká cena těchto krmiv. Nahrazení KKS sušenými larvami je metodicky nenáročné. Proto může být ekonomickou alternativou pro menší rybí farmy či akvaponie, které mohou levně produkovat larvy potemníka skladištního za využití zbytkových a odpadních materiálů.

Abstract:

The theoretical part described the ecological impact of intensive agriculture and the related effort to find alternative sources of feed. In addition, insects were mentioned as a substitute in animal nutrition and their use in aquaculture, along with a description of fishmeal. The literature research ended with information on the European legislation on the use of insects as feed. The experimental part aimed to verify the possibility of partial replacment of the complete feed mixture for fish with larvae of dried insects. Larvae of Alphitobius diaperinus cultivated on wheat bran and African catfish (Clarias gariepinus) were selected as the experimental organisms. For the experiment, three groups of African catfish were established, each in three repetitions. The control group was fed only granulated complete feed mixture (KKS). In experimental groups, KKS was replaced by dried larvae (SL) from 15 % - 30 %. The amount of feed was designed as 1.5 % of the weight of the fish in the tank, which corresponds to the requirements for extensive catfish farming. All groups were kept under the same conditions in the laboratory at the Department of Zoology and Fisheries. During the experiment, the fish were weighed and measured weekly. The trial was terminated after 42 days (seven weeks). The mean weight of the individuals in the experimental groups was 126.7 ± 48.7 g for the 70 % KKS + 30 % SL group and 118.8 ± 35.5 g for the 85 % KKS and 15 % SL groups. As for the control group, the resulting average individual weight was 122.2 ± 35.3 g. Based on statistical evaluation (α = 0.05), there was no statistically significant difference between these values. Similarly, no statistically significant difference was found in the average and standard total length of the fish. The results of the work suggest that in extensive breeding it is possible to replace granulated KKS up to 30% without significant influence on the weight and size of fish. While the separation of insect protein and its incorporation into the KKS is a technologically demanding matter, which corresponds to the relatively high price of these feeds. Replacing KKS with dried larvae is methodologically undemanding and therefore can be an economical alternative for smaller fish farms or aquaponics, which can cheaply produce larvae of the storebird using residual and waste materials.
