Arguments against Creationism in the Publications of Richard Dawkins

Abstract:

Téma této bakalářské práce se věnuje názorům kreacionistů a jejich odpůrců evolucionistů na vznik Země a života na ní. Ve své práci se budu zabývat především argumenty jedné z nejvlivnějších osobností evoluční biologie posledních let, nositele Nobelovy ceny, Richarda Dawkinse. Klíčové pro mne bude sledovat a hodnotit agrumenty kreacionistických představitelů, kterými se snaží vyvracet důkazy o evoluci, a naopak, jak se s těmito kreacionistickými argumenty dokáže vyrovnat evolucionista Dawkins. Zároveň se také zaměřím na historii různých teorií o vzniku života, ať již z pohledu kreacionistického tak i evolucionistického.

Abstract:

The thesis of this bachelor work is focused on ideas of creationists and their opponents - evolutionists on the origins of the Earth and life on it. I will be concerned mostly with arguments of Richard Dawkins, one of the most influential personalities of the last years in evolutionary biology and the Nobel Prize winner. For me, it will be crucial to follow and judge the arguments of creationists by which they tries to disprove the evolution. On the other hand, I will focus on the evolutionist Dawkins' way to deal with creationist arguments. Last but not least, I will occupy with the history of different theories of the origins of life on Earth from both creationist and evolutionist point of view.
