Security Integration Processes in the Post-Soviet Space

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá tématem bezpečnostních integračních procesů v postsovětském prostoru se zaměřením na Organizaci smlouvy o kolektivní bezpečnosti (OSKB). Cílem práce je určit charakter OSKB z hlediska teorií konceptu kolektivní bezpečnosti. V první kapitole jsou zkoumány různé přístupy ke konceptu kolektivní bezpečnosti. Výsledkem první kapitoly je určení kritérií, na jejichž základě je možné identifikovat organizaci kolektivní bezpečnosti. Druhá kapitola se věnuje charakteristice postsovětského prostoru a integračních procesů v postsovětském prostoru. Ve třetí kapitole je provedena analýza Organizace smlouvy o kolektivní bezpečnosti. Na závěr práce jsou přivedeny argumenty, proč OSKB není organizací kolektivní bezpečnosti a spíše by měla být považována za organizaci kolektivní obrany.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the topic of security integration processes in the post-Soviet space, and focuses on the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO). The aim of the thesis is to specify the character of the CSTO from the perspective of collective security theories. The first part of the thesis studies different approaches to the concept of collective security. The result of the first part is the specification of criterions, which allow to identify collective security organization. The second part describes the characteristics of post-Soviet space and integration processes in the post-Soviet space. The third part analyses the Collective Security Treaty Organization. The conclusion provides arguments, why CSTO is not a collective security organization and why it should rather be considered as a collective defense organization.
