The Effect of Refractory Metals on the Structure and Properties of Al-Si casting alloys

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá analýzou vlivu těžkotavitelných kovů na strukturu a vlastnosti odlitků z Al-Si slitin. V teoretické části jsou popsány přísadové a doprovodné prvky Al-Si slitin, jakož i vliv přidání těžkotavitelných kovů na strukturu a mechanické vlastnosti odlitků. Experimentální část práce se zaměřuje na přípravu odlitků s různými obsahy těchto kovů ve třech Al-Si slitinách s rozdílnými legujícími prvky a to AlSi7Mg0,3, AlSi7Cu4 a AlSi10,5Cu1,2Mn0,8Ni1,2 a následného tepelného zpracování za různých podmínek. Pro každou slitinu byly porovnávány dva vzorky, jeden před tepelným zpracováním a druhý po tepelném zpracování. Následně je popsána příprava jednotlivých vzorků pro mikroskopickou analýzu a tyčí pro statickou zkoušku tahem. Ve slitinách před a po tepelném zpracování se analyzuje jejich vliv na mechanické vlastnosti, které jsou ověřovány měřením tvrdosti, mikrotvrdosti a statickou tahovou zkouškou. Získané naměřené hodnoty byly zpracovány a vyjádřeny v podobě tabulek a grafů a následně byly vzájemně analyzovány mezi sebou.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the analysis of the influence of refractory metals on the structure and properties of Al-Si alloy castings. The theoretical part describes the additive and complementary elements of Al-Si alloys as well as the effect of the addition of refractory metals on the structure and mechanical properties of the castings. The experimental part of the thesis focuses on the preparation of castings with different contents of these metals in three Al-Si alloys with different alloying elements, namely AlSi7Mg0.3, AlSi7Cu4 and AlSi10.5Cu1.2Mn0.8Ni1.2 and subsequent heat treatment under different conditions. For each alloy, two samples were compared, one before heat treatment and the other after heat treatment. Subsequently, the preparation of each sample for microscopic analysis and the tensile specimen rods for static tensile testing is described. The alloys before and after heat treatment are analysed for their effect on mechanical properties, which are verified by hardness and microhardness measurements and static tensile test. The obtained measured values were processed and expressed in the form of tables and graphs and then analyzed with each other.
