Advancement and opportunities of the Smart City concept in Pilsen

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá konceptem Smart City a jeho pokročilostí a příležitostmi v Plzni. Cílem bylo zjistit aktuální úroveň zavádění konceptu Smart City v Plzni a navrhnout doporučení pro další rozvoj konceptu pro město Plzeň. Teoretická část práce představuje koncept, jeho základní dimenze a příklady aplikace tohoto konceptu ve světě. V praktické části byla Plzeň porovnávána z pohledu různých oblastí souvisejících s konceptem (např. uskutečněné projekty, strategie nebo komunikace) s Vídní, která je v implementaci tohoto konceptu dále. Bylo provedeno i dotazníkové šetření pro zjištění úrovně povědomí o konceptu v Plzni. Na základě porovnání a výsledků dotazníku byly identifikovány oblasti Smart Environment a Smart Mobility jako klíčové pro budoucí rozvoj v Plzni, včetně konkrétních projektů, které by respondenti uvítali.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the concept of Smart City and its progress and opportunities in Pilsen. The main goal was to find out the current level of implementation of the Smart City concept in Pilsen and to propose recommendations for the further development of the concept for the Pilsen. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis presents the concept, its basic dimensions and examples of application of this concept in the world. In the practical part, Pilsen was compared from the point of view of various areas related to the concept (e.g. implemented projects, strategies or communications) with Vienna, which is further in the implementation of this concept. A questionnaire survey was also conducted to determine the level of awareness about the concept in Pilsen. Based on the comparison and the results of the questionnaire, the areas of Smart Environment and Smart Mobility were identified as key for future development in Pilsen, including specific projects that respondents would welcome.
