Differentiation of taste and consumption in cinematography: Current visitor of Prague's cinemas

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá tématem elitní a masové kultury v oblasti kinematografie. Tato problematika je nahlížena jak z teoretického, tak z praktického hlediska. Práce se snaží vymezit oba pojmy a definovat mezi nimi rozdíly. Teoretická část práce pojednává o dělení kinematografie na vysokou a nízkou. Empirická část práce se zabývá problematikou návštěvníků kin v Praze. Cílem práce je posoudit, zdali se současná kinematografie dá dělit na elitní a masovou oblast a jaké má toto dělení dopad na chování, rozhodování a preference diváků.

Abstract:

The Bachelor's Thesis focuses on the elite and mass culture in the field of cinematography. The issue is acknowledged from both a theoretical and a practical point of view. The work seeks to define both terms and also the differences between them. The theoretical part deals with the division of cinematography into elite or mass one. The empirical part of the thesis focuses on the issue of moviegoers in Prague. The aim of this thesis is to assess whether the current cinema can be divided into elite and mass area and what impact this separation has on behaviour and decision making preferences of the viewers.
