Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na román Slunce mrtvých ne zcela analyzovaného autora I. S. Šmeljova. Úvod práce je věnován životu autora, jeho stěžejním dílům a době, ve které působil. Pozornost je soustředěna na Říjnovou revoluci 1917 a občanskou válku v Rusku a následné reakce na tyto události – především na první vlnu emigrace. This diploma work is focused on analysis of the novel „Sun of the Dead“ by I. S. Shmelev, whose works haven't been completely analysed up to nowdays. The introduction of the diploma work is dedicated to the live of the author, especially to his substantial works with respect to the times he was influenced by.
