Interregional cooperation: the Czech-Bavarian Euroregions Egrensis and Bayerischer Wald, Šumava and Unterer Inn

Abstract:

In my bachelor's thesis, I summarize how and why Euroregions were created and point out the historical facts that were inclined to their creation. Specifically, I dealt with the border regions between the Czech Republic, the Federal Republic of Germany and Austria. These are Euregio Egrensis and Euregio Bayerischer Wald - Šumava - Unterer Inn. An examination of the modern history of the countries already mentioned has shown that relations, culture, economics and other areas of life have been interconnected for many decades. But their development and functionality were disrupted, for example, by restrictions imposed by the government after World War II and during the communist era. I researched what the organizational structure of these organizations looks like and focused on some of the projects they are working on. The projects, which are implemented thanks to the Euroregions and with the help of subsidies, improve the quality of life at the border and help to establish friendly relations between the given countries. At the same time, they allow residents to get to know a different culture and a different way of living.

Abstract:

Cílem mé bakalářské práce bylo shrnout jakým způsobem a proč vznikly euroregiony a poukázat na historické skutečnosti, které byly nakloněny k jejich vzniku. Prozkoumala jsem, jak vypadá organizační struktura těchto organizací a zaměřila se na některé z projektů, kterým se věnujou. Konkrétně jsem se zaobírala pohraničními regiony mezi Českou republikou, Německou spolkovou republikou a Rakouskem. Jedná se o Euregio Egrensis a Euregio Bayerischer Wald - Šumava - Unterer Inn. Po prozkoumání moderní historie již zmíněných zemí vyšlo najevo, že vztahy, kultura, ekonomie a další oblasti života byly propojeny již dlouhá desetiletí. Ale jejich rozvoj a funkčnost narušovaly například restricke nařízené vládou po druhé světové válce a v období komunismu. K poukázání na úspěšnost projektů vedených euroregiony jsem zkontaktovala některé z účastníků projektu Gastschuljahr pořádaného v rámci euregia Egrensis a dotázala se na hodnocení průběhu a výsledků jejich pobytu. V odpovědích se nacházely převážně pozitivní reakce. Je tedy vidět, že snaha, která je vynaložena k fungování projektů a rozvoji v rámci euroregionu, se vyplácí. Projekty, které jsou díky Euroregionům a za pomocí dotací realizovány, zkvalitňují život v pohraničí a napomáhají k přátelským vztahům mezi danými zeměmi. Zároveň umožňují obyvatelům poznávat jinou kulturu a jiný způsob žití.
