Anotace:

In the thesis I have focused on the contemporary situation of British Muslims and their more or less successful integration into British society. A number of concerns have been addressed: the nature of the Western and Islamic civilization and their relationship, ethnic and religious diversity of the British Muslim community, a representative Muslim voice, media coverage, Islamophobia, the government approach to minority integration, and the notion of national and religious identity. The Brown government’s integration framework of new Britishness has been examined in detail.
