The overuse of computer and its influence especially on family life

Abstract:

Jak se mění svět, mění se i závislosti. Pokud se do této doby hovořilo pouze o závislosti na alkoholu, drogách a výherních automatech lze nyní k těmto závislostem s jistotou přidat i závislost na fenoménu přelomu druhého a třetího tisíciletí - počítači. Stále vzrůstající procento populace si již nedokáže svůj život bez počítače a počítačových her vůbec představit. Doposud byla výše uvedená závislost monitorována spíše ve vztahu k mládeži, která má k informačním technologiím přístup od útlého věku a jejich využívání si osvojuje s naprostou samozřejmostí. Z posledních průzkumů je však patrné, že závislost na počítačích postihuje čím dál více i dospělé osoby. U těchto osob je použití počítače nezbytností při výkonu drtivé většiny kvalifikovanějších povolání. Celá řada dospělých však i po splnění pracovních úkolů opět usedá před obrazovky svých notebooků a počítačů, kde tráví podstatnou část svého volného času. Nejedná se pouze o hraní počítačových her, ale i o chatování, tzv. surfování (brouzdání) po internetu, elektronickou komunikaci a mnoho dalších činností. Tímto dochází k výraznému omezení a mnohdy i ztrátě příležitosti a schopnosti osobní komunikace s rodinou a přáteli. Časem se začínají objevovat první zdravotní problémy, problémy v zaměstnání, v osobním životě. Kam až může závislost na počítači dospět, jsem se snažila popsat ve své bakalářské práci.

Abstract:

Together with the changes of the world, there are changes of addictions. If we have talked so far only about the addictions to alcohol, drugs and gambling machines, now we can surely add an addiction to a phenomena of the second and third millennium - computer. Ever-increasing percentage of the population cannot imagine their life without computers and computer games. So far, the above mentioned addiction has been mostly monitored in the relation to the young who have an access to the information technologies since their early childhood and who master the computer use with absolute self-evidence. The recent surveys show that addiction to computers affects more and more adults. For these people the computer skills are essential in the performance of the overwhelming majority of qualified occupations. Many adults, however, sit again in front of the computer screens after working hours, and spend there a substantial part of their free time. This is not just about playing computer games, but also about chats, so-called surfing (browsing) over the Internet, electronic communications and many other activities. This leads to significant limitations and often to loss of the opportunity and the ability of personal communication with family and friends. Over time, the health problems emerge, later problems at work and in personal life appear. How far can the addiction on the computer arrive, I tried to describe in this bachelor work.
