Development tendencies of agrarian trade of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay

Abstract:

Cílem práce je analyzovat a identifikovat hlavní vývojové tendence agrárního obchodu Argentiny, Paraguaye a Uruguaye a interpretovat tento vývoj ve vazbě na probíhající či uvažované liberalizační tendence v rámci světového agrárního trhu. Obecně, státy Latinské Ameriky tradičně využívají svého surovinového bohatství a přírodních podmínek a tak mezi typická exportní odvětví patří i zemědělství. Práce interpretuje vývojové tendence agrárního obchodu třech členských států uskupení MERCOSUR, konkrétně Argentiny, Paraguaye a Uruguaye ve vazbě na probíhající či uvažované liberalizační tendence v rámci světového agrárního trhu, a to mezi lety 2000 a 2018. Analýza se zaměřuje na celkovou dynamiku agrárního obchodu těchto zemí, vyhodnocení podoby a změn teritoriální a zbožové struktury a analýzu projevené komparativní výhody jednotlivých agrárních produktů. Výsledky analýz jsou interpretovány, včetně naznačení možných přínosů a rizik z hlediska uvažovaného prohloubení liberalizace mezi MERCOSUR a EU.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to analyze and identify the main development trends in agrarian trade of Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay and to interpret this development in relation to ongoing and considered liberalisation trends in the world agricultural market. In general, Latin American countries traditionally use their raw material wealth and natural conditions, and so agriculture is one of the typical export industries. The thesis interprets the development trends of agricultural trade of three member states of MERCOSUR, Argentina, Paraguay and Uruguay in relation to ongoing or considered liberalization trends in the world agricultural market between the years 2000 and 2018. The analysis focuses on the overall dynamics of agricultural trade in these countries, evaluation of the form and changes of the territorial and commodity structure and analysis of the manifested comparative advantage of individual agricultural products. The results of the analyzes are interpreted, including an indication of possible benefits and risks in terms of the considered deepening of liberalization between MERCOSUR and the EU.
