Men as students and future social workers

Abstract:

Absolventská práce se zabývá genderovými aspekty v sociální práci a specifickou rolí mužů v tomto oboru. Rozebírá problematiku nedostatku mužů v oboru sociální práce a zdůrazňuje důležitost zastoupení mužů v této profesi. Dále analyzuje rozdíly v přístupnosti mezi mužskými a ženskými pracovníky, jejich osobností charakteristiky a vnímaní jejich přínosu v pracovním prostředí. V textu jsou také popsány stereotypy sociální práce, které mají vliv na její kvalitu. Taktéž popisuje etická dilemata, se kterými se mužští sociální pracovníci potýkají a kterým čelí v převážně ženských profesích.

Abstract:

The thesis addresses gender aspects in social work and the specific role of men in this field. It examines the issue of the shortage of men in social work and underscores the importance of their representation in the profession. Furthermore, it analyses differences in accessibility between female and male workers, their personality traits, and the perception of their contributions in the workplace. The text also describes the stereotypes of social work that affect its quality. Additionally, it describes the ethical dilemmas that male social workers face and confront in predominantly female profession.
