Anotace:

The aim of the thesis is to implement financial analysis, its tools and methods on to the Gazprom financial performance in 2013-2017 to evaluate its efficiency and stability. Moreover, it is decided to compare the company to its direct market competitor Chevron corporation for a deeper and wider assessment. The practical value of financial analysis is revealed through the implementation of analytical tools and strategies to seek improvement in increasing trade potential. The financial analysis of business performance allows enhancing Gazprom’s sustainability and forecasting the upcoming financial difficulties and subsequently diminishing the chances of going bankrupt. Consequently, the author’s findings disclose the company’s ability to stand in the economic competition, its strong and weak sides of financial performance drivers and strategic positioning. Based on the following results of the company’s financial state, suggestions and potential targets are developed by the author for further improvements and financial growth of the corporation. The thesis should be of interest to students investigating the aspects of financial analysis, its role and value in the corporate business practices.
