Establishment of Czechoslovakia from the point of view of Ústecký deník

Abstract:

This thesis deals with relations between the Czechs and the Germans that lived together in the period of the establishment of Czechoslovakia in 1918 and with the means of language used in texts of the newspaper Aussiger Tagblatt. On the basis of analysis of the texts it confirms the initial hypothesis that authorities of the National Committee carried out the takeover of the power carefully and prudently and that the Germans protested against their pertinence to the Czech state. The first, the theoretical part of this work deals with the historical context in which the professional literature from the sphere of history is compared with the point of view of Aussiger Tagblatt that was published from September 1918 to June 1919. In the second, the practical part relations between the Czechs and the Germans are researched on the basis of articles of Aussiger Tagblatt. The used means of language, the communication strategies and the ways of propaganda are found out by means of analysis of texts.

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá vztahy Čechů a Němců, kteří společně žili v době založení Československa roku 1918, a jazykovými prostředky užitými v textech Ústeckého deníku. Na základě analýzy textů potvrzuje úvodní hypotézu, že orgány Národního výboru provedly převzetí moci opatrně a uvážlivě a že Němci protestovali proti své příslušnosti k českému státu. První, teoretická část této práce se zabývá historickým kontextem, při kterém je konfrontována odborná literatura z oblasti historie s pohledem Ústeckého deníku, který vyšel v období září 1918 až červen 1919. Ve druhé, praktické části, jsou zkoumány vztahy Čechů a Němců na základě článků Ústeckého deníku. Pomocí analýzy textů jsou zjišťovány použité jazykové prostředky, komunikační strategie a propagandistické prostředky.
