Comparative analysis of the conflict in Kosovo and the conflict in Crimea

Abstract:

Předkládaná diplomová práce s názvem „Komparativní analýza konfliktu v Kosovu a konfliktu na Krymu" se zabývá dvěma evropskými konflikty řazenými do postbipolárního období. Cílem diplomové práce je na základě komparativní analýzy vyhodnotit společné znaky a vzájemné odlišnosti konfliktu v Kosovu a konfliktu na Krymu. V teoreticko-metodologické části práce vymezuje kromě metodiky výzkumu základní pojmy důležité pro samotnou komparaci. Následuje specifikace průběhu konfliktu v Kosovu a konfliktu na Krymu včetně jejich historických souvislostí a stručného nastínění současné situace. Poslední část práce se věnuje samotné komparativní analýze konfliktu na Krymu a konfliktu v Kosovu, která je prováděna na základě předem stanovených kritérií. Časové období analýzy konfliktu v Kosovu započíná rokem 1980 a končí rokem 2008. Časové rozmezí analýzy konfliktu na Krymu bylo stanoveno mezi lety 1991 a 2014. Obě analytické časové osy byly určeny dle analogických událostí.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis entitled "Comparative analysis of the conflict in Kosovo and the conflict in Crimea" deals with two European conflicts classified in the post-bipolar period. The goal of the thesis is to evaluate the common features and mutual differences of the conflict in Kosovo and the conflict in Crimea. In the theoretical and methodological part of the thesis, in addition to the research methodology, it defines the basic concepts important for the comparison itself. The following part od the thesis contains a specification of the course of the conflict in Kosovo and the conflict in Crimea, including their historical context and a brief outline of the current situation. The last part of the thesis is devoted to the comparative analysis of the conflict in Crimea and the conflict in Kosovo, which is carried out on the basis of predetermined criteria. The time period for the analysis of the conflict in Kosovo begins in 1980 and ends in 2008. The time period for the analysis of the conflict in Crimea was set between 1991 and 2014. Both analytical timelines were determined according to analogous events.
