Changing the Mechanical Properties of Filled Polyamides Modified Ionizing Beta Radiation

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na vliv ionizujícího beta záření na mechanické vlastnosti konstrukčních polymerů. Cílem bakalářské práce je definovat vrubovou houževnatost a sílu, která je potřebná k přeražení tělesa. S tím je taktéž spojeno srovnání a určení rozdílů u těles, která byla ozářena ionizujícím zářením a těles, která ozářena nebyla. Teoretická část je zaměřena na charakteristiku a rozdělení použitých materiálů, jimiž jsou polyamidy. Následně jsou definovány vlastnosti polyamidů, navlhavost polyamidů a jejich využití. V dalších kapitolách jsou charakterizovány vlastnosti polymerů, jejich modifikace a síťování. V závěru teoretické části jsou uvedeny typy ionizačního záření a faktory, které jej ovlivňují. V praktické části jsou měřená data pro získání hodnot vrubové houževnatosti a síly potřebné k přeražení zkušebního tělíska ozářeného ionizujícím beta zářením. Následně budou naměřená data srovnána s daty u neozářených těles. Závěr se bude věnovat vyhodnocení získaných výsledků a rozdílů mezi ozářenými a neozá-řenými tělesy.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis is focused on the effect of ionizing beta radiation on the mechanical properties of structural polymers. The aim of the bachelor thesis is to define notch tough-ness and strength, which is needed to break the body. With this is also associated compari-son and determination of differences in the bodies, which were irradiated with ionizing radiation and bodies, which were not irradiated. The theoretical part concentrates on the characteristics of used materials, that is polyami-des, their characteristics and their classification. Subsequently, the properties of polyamides are defined, their water-absorbing property and their utilization. In the following chapters, the properties of polymers, their modification and networking are characterized. In conclusion of the theoretical part are presented the types of ionizing radiation and the factors, that have an effect on it. In the practical part, data are obtained for the measure-ment of notch toughness and needed force for the penetration of test body, irradiated with ionizing beta radiation. After that, the measured data will be compared with the data for non-irradiated bodies. The conclusion will deal with the evaluation of the obtained results and the differences between irradiated and non-irradiated bodies.
