The impact of using tablets on the development of graphic motor skills of the child

Abstract:

Ve své diplomové práci se zabývám otázkou vlivu užívání tabletu či smartphonu v předškolním období na grafomotoriku dítěte ve středním školním věku. Teoretická část je zaměřena na oblast mobilních technologií, její stručné charakteristiky, vývoje a doposud zjištěných pozitivních i negativních vlivů dopadajících na lidské zdraví. Dále pak hovořím o specifikách dítěte v předškolním období a středním školním věku, vymezuji základní pojmy v oblasti motoriky jako předpokladu k psaní, kterému je následně věnována celá jedna kapitola, včetně diagnostiky potřebné v empirické části této práce. Teoretickou pasáž pak uzavírá problematika kresby, poukazuji na její nezastupitelnou roli v období dětství, uvádím stručný popis rozvoje kresby probíhajícího simultánně s vývojem dítěte a v neposlední řadě, podobně jako v kapitole Psaní, se zaobírám hodnocením a faktory, které mohou kresebný výkon ovlivnit. Subjektem mého zájmu v rámci výzkumné sondy se staly děti, které jsou současně žáky 3. a 4. ročníků vybraných 5 fakultních základních škol v Brně. Z této populace byly, dle předem stanovených kritérií, vybrány výzkumné vzorky A a B, z čehož každý z nich je složen právě z 10 dětí splňujících podmínky pro užívání a neužívání tabletu či smartphonu. Na základě diagnostiky psaní a kresby je v rámci analýzy popsán a vyhodnocen výkon všech 20 vybraných dětí a následně jsou výsledky psané a kresebné činnosti obou výzkumných vzorků vzájemně komparovány a vyhodnoceny.

Abstract:

In my Diploma Thesis, I deal with the question of influence of tablet and smartphone usage in pre-school period on graphomotorics of a child in middle school age. The theoretical part is focused on the area of mobile technologies, its brief characteristics, development and up-to-now discovered positive and negative effects that affect human health. Next, I talk about the specifics of pre-school and middle school aged child, define the basics terms in field of motorics as a prerequisite for writing, which is dedicated the whole chapter to with the diagnostics needed in research part included. The theoretical part closes the problematics of drawing. I point out to the irreplaceable role of drawing during childhood, give a brief description of the development of drawing simultaneously to the development of a child and last but not least, as in the chapter Writing, I devote myself to evaluation and factors that can influence the drawing performance. The subject of my interest within my research became children who are currently pupils of the 3rd and 4th forms of five selected university primary schools in Brno. From this selection of children, selected according to predefined criteria, were chosen research samples A and B, each consisting exactly of 10 children meeting the requirements of using and not using the tablets or smartphones. Based on the diagnostics of writing and drawing, the performance of all 20 selected children is described and evaluated in the analysis and subsequently the results of writing and drawing activities of the two research samples are compared and evaluated.
