Text-linguistic comparison of selected sections in a quality press and tabloid press

Abstract:

This thesis deals with the comparison of selected sections of serious and tabloid newspapers from the perspective of text linguistics. Its aim is the analysis of the characteristics of the selected articles and their comparison. Attention is first devoted to text linguistics, linguistic analysis of discourse and the linguistic concept of the term text. Work is also engaged in the mass media and the press, and their specific linguistic characteristics. As for printing, whose are described here, their typical characters in the field of linguistic, i.e. syntactic, lexical plane and syntax headings. This work is at the same time, also dedicated to newspapers, their structure in Germany and the German press. Here are characterized by the daily press, serious and tabloid newspapers and the language features section of the economy. Part of the work is the analysis and comparison of the characteristics of quality and tabloid press in terms of text linguistics. For this work were selected the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung as a representative of the serious newspaper and Bild-Zeitung as a representative of the newspaper tabloid.

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá porovnáním vybraných rubrik seriózních a bulvárních novin z pohledu textové lingvistiky. Jejím cílem je analýza charakteristických znaků zvolených článků a jejich srovnání. Pozornost je nejprve věnována textové lingvistice, lingvistické analýze diskursu a lingvistickému pojetí termínu text. Práce se zabývá také masmédii a tiskem a jejich specifickými jazykovými vlastnostmi. Co se týče tisku, jsou zde popsány jeho typické znaky v oblasti lingvistické, tj. syntaktická, lexikální rovina a syntax nadpisů; dále pak také v morfologické a rétoricko-stylistické oblasti. Tato práce se zároveň věnuje také novinám, jejich struktuře v Německu a německému tisku. Jsou zde charakterizovány deníky, seriózní a bulvární noviny a jazykové rysy rubriky hospodářství. Součástí práce je analýza a srovnání vlastností seriózních a bulvárních novin z hlediska textové lingvistiky. Pro tuto práci byly vybrány Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung jako zástupce seriózních novin a Bild-Zeitung jako představitel novin bulvárních.
