Photograph-medium truths, illusions and lies

Abstract:

Předmětem mé praktické diplomové práce je soubor fotografií vyvolaných celkem netradičním analogovým způsobem na pouhý papír. Inspirací pro tyto fotografie mi bylo studium optických klamů a zákonitostí optiky, studium autorů pravdivých, iluzivních a inscenovaných fotografií i takových, u kterých můžeme o jejich pravdivosti a nepravdivosti pouze spekulovat. Mým cílem bylo oklamat diváka reálným vzezřením iluzivních fotografií, na kterých poznáme, že jde o iluzi až při bližším zkoumání. V teoretické části jsem se potom zabývala fotografií, co je to fotografie, jejím vznikem a vývojem, taktéž jsem se zde zabývala pravdou, lží a iluzemi, obzvláště iluzemi ve fotografii vytvořených pomocí zákonů geometrické perspektivy, zvláště pak popíráním měřítka, a dále některými autory iluzivních a inscenovaných fotografií. V didaktické části se potom zabývám svou profesní přípravou a převedením svého tématu diplomové práce do praxe.

Abstract:

The main subject of my diploma thesis is a series of photographs developed by quite non-traditional analogue procedure to simple paper. I found inspiration to creating this type of pictures in studying of the optical illusions and the laws of optics. I was also inspired by authors of the true, illusive and staged photographs and especially by photographs in which reality or unreality is only speculation. The aim of was to deceive the viewer by the real appearance of illusionary photographs in which delusion is revealed after detailed observation. In the theoretical part I dealt with photographs, definition of photograph, its origins and development. I was mainly concerned with truth, lies and delusions, particularly with delusions in a photograph created by the laws of geometrical perspective, particularly by a scale denial. My thesis also included information about several authors of illusive and staged photos. The didactic part is focused on my professional preparation and the transfer of my theoretical focus into practice.
