The Specifics of Communication of a Social Worker with a Mentally Ill Client

Abstract:

Předmětem této práce je porozumět situaci osob s duševním onemocněním, které jsou kli-enty sociální práce sociálních pracovníků městského úřadu obce s rozšířenou působností Otrokovice a zároveň pochopit specifické rysy komunikace sociálního pracovníka s nimi. Práce je zaměřena na interakci mezi sociálním pracovníkem a klientem s duševní nemocí, podmínky jejich spolupráce, možnosti pomoci v rámci sociální práce a motivaci klientů užívat právě tuto formu pomoci. Práce se rovněž zabývá tím, jak osoby s duševní nemocí rozumí své vlastní životní sociální situaci, jak ji prožívají a do jaké míry je v možnostech sociálního pracovníka obecního úřadu jejich situaci změnit.

Abstract:

The object of this thesis is to understand the situation of people with mental illness, who are clients of social work of social workers of the municipal office of the municipality with extended competence Otrokovice and understand the specific features of social worker communication with them as well. The thesis is focused on the interaction between the social worker and the client with men-tal illness, the conditions of their cooperation, the possibilities of social work help and the motivation of clients to use this form of support. The thesis also deals with how people with mental illness understand their own social si-tuation, how they experience it, and how far the possibilities of a social worker in a muni-cipal office can change their situation.
