"The stolen picture": A concept for activating DaF learners with the German language level A1

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the use of activating methods in teaching German language to students at A1 level. The first part introduces the theoretical background of the topic and links it to the current development of approaches and requirements with regard to teaching (not only) foreign languages. The second part of the thesis concentrates on the main aim of the thesis that is to create a complex activity for teaching German language to teenagers on the A1 level named “The Stolen Picture”, based on activisa-tion of the students combined with the development of their language skills and oth-er competencies, which are topics that still resonate in the context of Czech educa-tion. Another goal of the author is to introduce the conception as a possible source of inspiration and original resources for other teachers. Apart from the descriptions and explanations of the whole activity and its individual parts, the second part of the thesis offers pieces of theoretical knowledge, that underline the relevance of the con-cept. What is more, the author adds comments and recommendations, that are based on the experience gained in the test of the activity with the target group.

Abstract:

Tato magisterská diplomová práce se zaměřuje na využití aktivizačních metod ve výuce německého jazyka pro úroveň A1. První část teoreticky uvádí do dané proble-matiky a propojuje ji se současným vývojem přístupů a požadavků týkajících se výu-ky nejen cizích jazyků. Hlavním cílem práce, kterému je věnovaná její druhá část, je zpracování komplexní aktivity pro výuku německého jazyka jako cizího jazyka mlá-deže na úrovni A1 s názvem „Ukradený obraz“, jejímž centrem je právě aktivizace žáků spojená nejen s rozvojem jazykových dovedností, ale také dalších kompetencí, což jsou témata, která jsou v kontextu českého školství stále aktuální. Dalším zámě-rem autorky je představit koncepci jako možný zdroj inspirace a původních materiá-lů dalším vyučujícím. Popisem a vysvětlením celé aktivity a jejích jednotlivých částí se prolínají teoretické poznatky, které dokreslují jejich význam. Přidanou hodnotou druhé části práce jsou komentáře a doporučení autorky, které vycházejí ze zkušenos-tí nabytých při testování aktivity s cílovou skupinou.
