Supplementary pension savings as an employee benefit. How do company managers make decisions?

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá tím, které faktory ovlivňují manažery českých firem při rozhodování, jestli jako jeden ze zaměstnaneckých benefitů nabídnou příspěvek do systému doplňkového penzijního spoření. V teoretické části práce s využitím dostupné literatury popisuji hlavní důvody a faktory, ovlivňující nabídku benefitu doplňkového penzijního spoření. V praktické částí zjišťuji, jestli tyto faktory mohou ovlivňovat manažery českých firem. Ke zjištění těchto vlivů používám polostrukturované rozhovory s manažery českých firem. Hlavním zjištěním práce je identifikace dvou primárních faktorů: zájmu zaměstnanců o jednotlivé benefity a nabídky benefitů ze strany konkurence. Práce měla charakter exploračního výzkumu, proto neumožňuje posoudit signifikanci a rozsah faktorů, avšak navrhuje následný výzkum, který by dané faktory prozkoumal více do hloubky.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with which factors influence the managers of Czech companies when deciding whether to offer a contribution to the supplementary pension savings system as one of the employee benefits. In the theoretical part of the thesis, using the available literature, I describe the main reasons and factors influencing the offer of the supplementary pension savings benefit. In the practical part, I find out if these factors can influence managers of Czech companies. I use semi-structured interviews with managers of Czech companies to find out these influences. The main finding of the work is the identification of two primary factors: the interest of employees in individual benefits and the offer of benefits by competitors. The work had the character of exploratory research. Therefore, it does not allow us to assess the significance and range of factors, but it suggests subsequent research that would explore the given factors in more depth.
