The Poetics Concept and Concept of Poetics at the Interface of Language, Literature and Fine Arts

Abstract:

Téma diplomové práce sleduje analogický vývoj experimentální a konceptuální poezie a využití jejich intermediálního potenciálu na hranici jazyka, literatury a výtvarného umění vzhledem k hlavnímu cíli zprostředkování v učitelské praxi. „Smysl slova spočívá v jeho užití“ – leitmotivem se stává vlastní podstata slova ve všech jeho podobách; jazykové, grafické a významové. Teoretická i prakticko-didaktická práce sleduje posloupný vývoj Od vizuální poezie přes experiment koncept až k akci, na němž ukazuje podnětné přesahy směrem k novým formám umění, které se od 60. let rozvíjely i v Československu. Teoretická část popisuje vybrané umělecké principy a pozadí jejich vzniku na příkladech konkrétní tvorby autorů jako byl Jiří Kolář, Ladislav Novák, Jiří Valoch, J. H. Kocmana, Vladimír Burda a tvůrčí dvojice J. Hiršal a B. Grögerová, na jejichž autorských přístupech lze spatřit formování uměleckých konceptuálních tendencí u nás. Dále nastiňuje řešení konceptuálního psaní a představuje řešení textové konceptuální praxe v tvorbě současných umělců. Praktická část diplomové práce spočívá v didaktickém uchopení představených autorských přístupů v sadě pracovních listů, které jsou zamýšleny k volnému použití. Tvůrčí listy obsahují ukázky děl a podněty k dotvářecím aktivitám v návaznosti na představené postupy a témata, tvůrčím porozuměním mají dále otevírat diskuzi o intermediálních formách umění. Listy mohou sloužit také jako doplněk při výuce literatury na základních a středních školách.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to broaden our knowledge of the analogical development of experimental and conceptual poetry and the use of its intermedial potential at the interface of language, literature, and fine arts concerning the main goal of mediation in teaching practice. ‚The meaning of the word lies in its usage‘- the leitmotif becomes the actual essence of the word in all its forms (linguistic, graphic, and semantic). Theoretical and practical work follows sequential development: From visual poetry through concept experiment to action, showing the stimulating shifts toward new forms of art that have been developing in Czechoslovakia since the 1960s. The theoretical part describes selected artistic principles and the background of their emergence on the examples of specific works of authors such as Jiří Kolář, Ladislav Novák, Jiří Valoch, J. H. Kocman, Vladimír Burda and the creative duo of J. Hiršal and B. Grögerová, whose artistic approaches can be seen in the formation of artistic conceptual tendencies in the Czech Republic. It also outlines solutions to conceptual writing and presents solutions to textual conceptual practice in the work of contemporary artists. The practical part of the thesis consists of a didactic grasp of the presented artist‘s approaches in a set of worksheets that are intended for free use. The worksheets contain examples of works and suggestions for creative activities with the presented processes and themes and are intended to open the discussion about intermedia art forms through creative understanding. The sheets can also be used as a supplement to the teaching literature in primary and secondary schools.
