Czech-German cultural standards in the work environment

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce na téma Česko-německé kulturní standardy v pracovním prostředí analyzuje mezikulturními odlišnostmi mezi Českou republikou a Německem. Hlavním cílem bakalářské práce je identifikovat česko-německé kulturní standardy v pracovním prostředí a na základě sekundárních a primárních zdrojů podrobně popsat kulturní rozdíly v pracovním prostředí mezi Českou republikou a Německem a následně navrhnout doporučení pro Čechy v pracovních vztazích s Němci. Porozumění těmto kulturním rozdílům může velice často představovat rozdíl mezi úspěšným partnerským obchodním vztahem a neúspěchem. Data pro primární výzkum jsou získána pomocí hloubkových rozhovorů s dvanácti Českými respondenty, kteří pracovali v německém prostředí minimálně 1 rok. K naplnění cíle práce jsou získané informace z rozhovorů srovnány s teoretickými východisky získanými ze sekundárních zdrojů. Na závěr jsou zjištěné informace shrnuty a vyhodnoceny a na základě výsledků jsou navrhnuta doporučení pro Čechy v pracovních vztazích s Němci.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis on Czech-German cultural standards in the work environment analyses the intercultural differences between the Czech Republic and Germany. The main aim of the bachelor thesis is to identify Czech-German cultural standards in the work environment and to describe in detail the cultural differences in the work environment between the Czech Republic and Germany based on secondary and primary sources and then to propose recommendations for Czechs in their working relations with Germans. Understanding these cultural differences can often be the difference between a successful business partnership and a failure. The data for the primary research is obtained through in-depth interviews with twelve Czech respondents who have worked in a German environment for at least one year. To fulfill the aim of the thesis, the information obtained from the interviews is compared with the theoretical background obtained from secondary sources. Finally, the information obtained is summarized and evaluated, and based on the results, recommendations for Czechs in working relationships with Germans are proposed.
