Drinking water availability in selected countries

Abstract:

Práce pojednává o dostupnosti vody ve vybraných zemích, kterými jsou Česká republika, Izrael, Mongolsko, Mosambik, Nigérie a Thajsko. V první části práce jsou uvedeny celkové zásoby vody na Zemi a s tím spojená problematika nedostatku a znečištění vody. Druhá část práce je věnována globálnímu informačnímu systému Aquastat, pomocí kterého jsou získány statistické hodnoty související s dostupností a využitím vody ve jmenovaných zemích. Tato data jsou následně vyobrazena v grafech a porovnána mezi sebou. Pomocí statistických metod je pak dále zjišťována možná korelace mezi jednotlivými proměnnými. Na závěr jsou potom přednesena zhodnocení použitých dat a připomínky k nedostatkům, jimiž databáze disponuje.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the availability of water in selected countries, such as the Czech Republic, Israel, Mongolia, Mozambique, Nigeria, and Thailand. The first part of the work presents the total water resources on Earth and the associated issues of water scarcity and pollution. The second part of the work is devoted to the Aquastat information system, which is used for global statistical values related to the availability and use of water in these countries. These data are then plotted in graphs and compared with each other. Further, using statistical methods, possible correlations between the given variables are detected. Finally, the evaluations of the used data and the comments on the shortcomings of the database are presented.
