The Eurobonds - the comparison of different implementation schemes and their ability to solve the debt crisis

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá fiskální nerovnováhou, která se v evropských zemích prudce zhoršila v důsledku propadu světové ekonomiky. Řada ekonomik musela ve velké míře financovat vzniklé deficity skrze emisi vládních dluhových cenných papírů, které jsou spojeny s dlouhodobými úrokovými sazbami. Pro pokrizový vývoj fragmentovaných trhů s vládními dluhopisy EMU bylo typické rozšiřování výnosů obligací, respektive dlouhodobých úrokových sazeb. Vymezení jednotlivých faktorů, které přispěly k rozšiřování spreadu mezi sazbami, podává druhá kapitola. Jedním ze způsobů, jak vyřešit krizi na trzích vládních dluhopisů, nabízí řada předních ekonomů i politiků v podobě jejich integrace. Z toho důvodu nabízí řadu schémat, které se zabývají možností integrace vládních trhů a možností emise společných vládních dluhopisů EMU.

Abstract:

This Master thesis is focused on the fiscal imbalance of the countries of the EMU, which deterioration was a consequence of the financial crisis. Most of the economies had to finance its deficits through the issuance of the sovereign bonds, which are associated with the longterm interest rates. The postcrisis development is characterized by the spread of sovereign bond yields. The thesis focuses on the determinants which have contributed to the spread. Moreover, the thesis discusses proposals for the common issuance of the eurobond which are seen as a solution of the debt market crisis.
