The relationship between COD and TOC in raw surface waters.

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hledáním vztahu mezi CHSKMn a TOC v surových povrchových vodách určených k úpravě na vodu pitnou. Pro zajištění reprezentativnosti výsledků bylo vybráno pět úpraven vod, přičemž čtyři z nich zpracovávají vodu povrchovou a jedna vodu podzemní. Všechny toky zásobující vodní nádrže povrchovou vodou pramení v oblastí rašelinišť Krušných hor. Zdrojem vody pro úpravnu podzemní vody je jedenáct vrtaných studní v blízkosti obce Holedeč. Koncentrace TOC a CHSKMn byly sledovány po dobu šesti měsíců. Stanovení množství a složení organických látek v surových vodách je důležité pro volbu správného technického postupu úpravy vody. Pomocí jednoduché lineární regrese byly popsány vztahy dvou proměnných CHSKMn a TOC a odvozeny regresní vztahy pro jednotlivé úpravny. Dále byl hodnocen velký soubor vstupních dat od roku 2004 až do konce roku 2011 který byl použit pro matematicko-statistické zpracování za účelem zjištění případných závislostí mezi jednotlivými proměnnými. Pro odvození regresního vztahu vycházejícího z dlouhodobého pozorování kvality surové vody bylo použito vícerozměrné regresní analýzy se zahrnutím stanovení koncentrace HL jako další důležité proměnné. Analýzou regresních vztahů odvozených z dat dlouhodobého pozorování byla prokázána závislost mezi CHSKMn a TOC se zahrnutím huminových látek jako dalšího důležitého ukazatele.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis is focused on finding of the relation between COD (Mn) and TOC in raw surface waters intended for treatment to drinking water. To ensure presentable results five water treatment stations have been chosen. Four of them process surface water and one of them processes underground water. All streams feeding water reservoirs by surface water spring in the peatland area of the Krušné Hory Mountains (the Ore Mountains). The water source for the underground water treatment station there are eleven tubular wells in the proximity of the village of Holedeč. The concentrations of TOC and CODMn were monitored for six months. To determine quantity and composition of organic matter in raw waters is important for selection of proper technical solution of water treatment. The relation of two variables COD Mn and TOC was described by means of simple linear regression and then the regressive relations for particular water treatment stations were derived. Further a large set of entry data from the period of 2004 till the end of 2011 that was used for mathematic-statistical elaboration to find out prospective dependence between particular variables. To derive regressive relation outgoing from long-term observation of raw water quality a multidimensional regressive analysis was used including determination of humic substances concentration as another important variable. The analysis of regressive relations derived from long-term observation data there was demonstrated a functionality between CODMn and TOC with inclusion of humic substances as another significant indicator.
