The Relations between United States and Mexico: Obama's and Trump's Comparison

Abstract:

Hlavním tématem této bakalářské práce je zkoumání postojů a jednání v zahraniční politice bývalých prezidentů Spojených států amerických Baracka Obamy a Donalda Trumpa vůči Mexiku v oblastech volného obchodu, migrace a drog. V teoretické části je čtenáři přiblížena teorie zahraniční politiky a její celková analýza, vývoj americkomexických vztahů, moc a postavení prezidentů v oblasti zahraniční politiky. V neposlední řadě je v teoretické části objasněn přístup Baracka Obamy a Donalda Trumpa v mezinárodních vztazích a jak pokračuje kooperace USA a Mexika v současné době. V praktické části jsou specificky vysvětlovány kroky a přístupy, které prezidenti vykonávali prostřednictvím zákonů a vzájemných politických dohod s mexickými prezidenty. Také jsou zde přiblíženy socioekonomické faktory, které právě zahraniční politiku a vzájemné vztahy zemí ovlivňují.

Abstract:

The main topic of this bachelor thesis is to examine the attitudes and actions in the foreign policy of former US presidents Barack Obama and Donald Trump towards Mexico in the areas of free trade, migration, and drugs. The theoretical part introduces the reader to the theory of foreign policy and its overall analysis, the development of US-Mexican relations, power and position of presidents in foreign policy. Finally, the theoretical part explains the approach of Barack Obama and Donald Trump in international relations and how the cooperation between the USA and Mexico continues today. The practical part specifically explains the steps and approaches that the presidents took through laws and mutual political agreements with Mexican presidents. The socio-economic factors that influence foreign policy and mutual relations are also presented here.
