E-learning - analysis of the issue and execution of the adaptive version

Abstract:

Téma rigorózní práce je zaměřeno do oblasti vývoje adaptivního e-learningu a inteligentního výukového softwaru. Práce se zabývá problematikou tvorby adaptivních e-learningových materiálů, popisuje metodiku a pedagogická východiska použitá při jejich návrhu. Adaptivní e-learningová výuka by měla respektovat odlišnosti studentů na základě zjištěného stylu učení a s ohledem na jejich měnící se znalosti a dovednosti během studia. Na základě identifikace osobních charakteristik a vlastností je studentům předkládán studijní materiál v podobě, která jim v maximální míře vyhovuje. To předpokládá vytvoření variantních studijních opor, které jsou každému studentovi předkládány různě. Kvalita vytvořených studijních opor byla ověřena v adaptivním výukovém systému ADEPT (The Adaptive Educational Programme Tool), který byl navržen a implementován v rámci mé dizertační práce. V teoretické části práce se zabýváme zasazením problematiky do kontextu výuky a vzdělávání pomocí e-learningu a uvádíme stručný přehled o současném stavu poznání a řešení problematiky českými i zahraničními odborníky. Představíme strukturu adaptivního výukového systému a funkce jeho expertních modulů. Detailně se věnujeme tvorbě elektronických studijních opor, jejich struktuře, uspořádání a obsahu učiva. V praktické části práce uvádíme strukturu adaptivní e-learningové opory, její základní a variantní části. Popíšeme přípravu a realizaci pedagogického experimentu, jehož cílem bylo ověřit kvalitu vytvořených adaptivních opor i funkci systému ADEPT ve výuce. Pomocí pedagogického experimentu a analýzou dat získáme odpovědi na otázky výzkumu a hypotézy zformulované v rigorózní práci. V závěru uvádíme výsledky, k nimž jsme řešením tématu rigorózní práce dospěli, spolu s doporučeními pro další výzkum a vývoj.

Abstract:

The theme of the thesis is focused in the development of adaptive e-learning and intelligent educational software. Thesis deals with the creation of adaptive e-learning materials, describes the methodology and pedagogical bases used in their design. Adaptive e-learning should respect the diversity of students on the basis of the identified learning style and with regard to their changing knowledge and skills during their studies. Based on the identification of personal characteristics and qualities, the students presented the study material in a way that they maximize the suits. It envisages the creation of alternative study supports that are submitted each student differently. The quality of created study materials were tested in adaptive learning system, ADEPT (The Adaptive Educational Programme Tool), which was designed and implemented as part of my dissertation. The theoretical part is dealing with planting issues in the context of teaching and learning via e-learning and a brief overview of the current state of knowledge and solving problems of Czech and foreign experts. We introduce an adaptive learning system structure and function of its expert modules. Detail is dedicated to creating electronic study materials, their structure, organization and content of the curriculum. In the practical part of the structure of an adaptive e-learning material support, its base and variant parts. We will describe the preparation and implementation of the teaching experiment aimed to verify the quality of the adaptive supports the function of ADEPT systems in the classroom. Using pedagogical experiment and analyzing the data we get answers to research questions and hypotheses formulated in rigorous work. In conclusion, we report the results for which we are the solution to the topic thesis arrived, along with recommendations for further research and development.
