Abstract:

Posloupnost permutací {Πi}, i∈N, se nazývá konvergentní, pokud se distribuce jejich podpermutací fixní velikosti v limitě stabilizují. V této práci prezentujeme základní výsledky o těchto konvergentních posloupnostech. Zvláštní důraz klademe na tzv. kvazináhodné posloupnosti, to jest takové posloupnosti, že zmíněná limitní distribuce podpermutací fixní velikosti je uniformní. O množině permutací pak řekneme, že vynucuje kvazináhodnost, pokud každá posloupnost {Πi}, i∈N, taková, že limita hustot d(π, Πi) konverguje k 1/|π|!, je kvazináhodná. Již Grahama zajímala otázka, zdali existuje přirozené k takové, že množina všech permutací velikosti k vynucuje kvazináhodnost. Bylo ukázáno, že tuto vlastnost má již číslo 4, tedy množina všech 24 permutací na 4 bodech vynucuje kvazináhodnost. Existují také menší množiny s touto vlastností, ovšem velikost nejmenší není známa. V naší práci hledáme spodní odhad na velikost vynucující množiny. Hlavní výsledek práce je důkaz toho, že každá množina vynucující kvazináhodnost obsahuje aspoň čtyři permutace.

Abstract:

A sequence of permutations {Πi}, i∈N, is said to be convergent if the distribution of their subpermutations of any fixed size is stabilized in the limit. In this thesis, we present basic results about these convergent sequences; in particular, we concern ourselves with quasirandom sequences. These are such convergent sequences that the distribution of fixed-size subpermutations converges to the uniform distribution. A set S of permutations is forcing if for any sequence {Πi}, i∈N, of permutations where, for every permutation π ∈ S, the density d(π, Πi) converges to 1/|π|!, it holds that {Πi}, i∈N, is quasirandom. Graham asked whether there exists an integer k such that the set of all permutations of order k is forcing; this has been shown to be true for any k ≥ 4. In particular, this is true for the set of 24 permutations on four elements. Even smaller forcing sets have been found; however, it is not known what the minimum size of a forcing set is. We find a non-trivial lower bound on the size of a forcing set. The main result of this thesis is a proof that every forcing set must contain at least four permutations.
