Biological properties of the hyaluronan-tyramine hydrogel for cartilage tissue replacement
Abstract:
Chondrocyty kultivované v HA-TA hydrogelu produkovaly glykosaminoglykany a dále kolagen typu II i kolagen typu I bez známek hypertrofie. Chondrocyty vykazovaly snížení exprese pro geny matrixových metaloproteináz -1 a -3 při současném zvýšení exprese matrixové metaloproteinázy -13. In vivo studie potvrdily biokompatibilitu a bidegradabilitu HA-TA hydrogelu při testech v podkoží …moreAbstract:
Traumatic cartilage injuries are problematic due to the low innate regeneration capacity of hyaline cartilage. After the injury, the cartilage degrades or is replaced by fibrocartilaginous tissue with inferior functional and mechanical properties. Nevertheless, fibrocartilage further irreversibly degenerates over the time and osteoarthritic changes take place slowly. The autologous chondrocyte implantation …moreAbstract:
6 addition to culture media during the early phase of chondrogenesis was observed. Chondrocytes cultivated in vitro were able to produce and accumulate glycosaminoglycans and collagen type II but also collagen type I inside the HA-TA hydrogel, without tendency to hypertrophy. Chondrocytes also decrease the transcription of matrix metalloproteinase (MMP)-1 and MMP-3 genes, and surprisingly increase …more
