Current approaches to healing wounds after cardiac surgery

Abstract:

Diplomová práce je zaměřena na problematiku hojení ran po kardiochirurgických výkonech. Důraz je kladen na ranné komplikace po střední sternotomii. Teoretická část práce popisuje obor kardiochirurgie, jeho historii a rozvoj, zabývá se operačními přístupy a s nimi spojenými operačními ranami. Zaměřena je hlavně na ranné komplikace po střední sternotomii, jejich projevy, terapeutické přístupy, zásady péče o pacienty se sternotomií a s dehiscencí sternotomie a v neposlední řadě rizikovými faktory a prevencí vzniku ranných komplikací. Empirickou část práce tvoří statistické šetření, jehož součástí je posouzení významu druhu kardiochirurgické operace na vznik ranné komplikace při hojení sternotomie. Zkoumaný soubor tvoří všichni pacienti kardiochirurgického oddělení, kteří byli operováni v roce 2010. Závěry výzkumného šetření v daném vzorku pacientů nepotvrdily, že druh kardiochirurgické operace má vliv na vznik ranných komplikací.

Abstract:

The thesis is focused on healing after cardiac surgery. Emphasis is placed on the wound complications after median sternotomy. The theoretical part describes the field of cardiac surgery, its history and development, deals with the issue of operational approaches and related operational wounds. It focuses mainly on wound complications after median sternotomy, their manifestations, therapeutic approaches, principles of care for patients with sternotomy and dehiscence of sternotomy and and last but not least the risk factors as well as prevention of wound complications. The empirical part consists of a statistical survey included an assessment of the importance of the type of cardiac operations on the emergence of early healing complications associated with sternotomy. The sample consists of all department of cardiac surgery patients who were operated on in 2010. Findings of the research for a given patient sample did not confirm that the type of cardiac operations has an effect on the emergence of early complications.
